RFX Mapito 80l

RFX Mapito is an inert (nutrient-free) substrate that is composed of mineral wool flakes and polyurethane flakes. It has a solid structure and contains the optimal ratio of water and oxygen.

It is important to rinse the Mapito substrate well before use to reduce the EC value. When growing in Mapit, carefully check the pH value in the substrate - maintain a pH value of 5.3-5.8.
An important procedure before growing is to let Mapito soak for 24 hours. In case of poor or no soaking, there is a risk that Mapito will not work properly and will absorb much less water. The plants will not have enough water and nutrients. Growers thus encounter the problem of non-rooted cuttings, or young, often vulnerable cuttings will not last long.
Try to fill the container with the substrate as much as possible. By using as many flakes as possible, you will prevent the substrate from dropping too much after the first soaking. By using a sufficient number of flakes, the substrate will be high enough to grow healthy plants even after precipitation. If the Mapito substrate still drops, add more flakes to create the optimal substrate layer.
